Hargreaves sheds £500m to drop down Rich List

Peter Hargreaves and Stephen Lansdown have dropped down the annual Rich List rankings after a tough 2014 for Hargreaves Lansdown shares.

The Sunday Times' annual list placed Hargreaves at 49th position, down from 39th last year, and put his wealth at £1.9bn. He was 47th on the list in 2013. The fall is likely down to the sharp drop in Hargreaves Lansdown's share price in 2014: the company's shares dropped 25% last year as concerns over the shift to a clean pricing model prompted profit taking in the stock. The 68-year-old (pictured), who continues to hold a 32% stake in HL, stepped down from its board earlier tihs month after almost 35 years.
