Carmignac's head of emerging equities exits

Carmignac Gestion's head of emerging equities Simon Pickard has left the business to pursue "personal projects".

Pickard, whose had worked for Carmignac for 12 years, managed the firm's flagship emerging equities funds since 2008. He had previously worked for the company from 2000 to 2005 as its head of European equities, before joining Argos Investment Managers for a brief stint in the same role. Carmignac had a disappointing 2014, suffering significant outflows across its range of funds. Pickard had managed the Carmignac Emergents fund and the equities within Carmignac Emerging Patrimoine.
