RIT Capital to acquire top-performing GVO boutique

RIT Capital Partners, the £2.3bn investment trust chaired by Lord Rothschild, is to acquire GVO Investment Management - formerly known as SVG Investment Managers.

The acquisition, financial details of which are undisclosed, comes just 16 months after GVO was purchased by Swiss firm Hansa Aktiengesellschaft from private equity group SVG Capital. RIT said it will acquire Hansa's stake in Strategic Equity Capital, an investment trust run by GVO, subject to regulatory approval of the transaction. The deal will also see RIT gain ownership of the GVO UK Focus fund, run by GVO chief executive Jamie Seaton.
