RWC launches UCITS version of Japanese engagement fund

RWC is to launch a UCITS version of its Japanese Stewardship fund for European investors.

The RWC Nissay Japan Focus fund is a joint venture with Tokyo-based Nissay Asset Management and will be a constructive engagement fund. RWC said its Japanese Stewardship fund, an alternative investment fund launched in 2005, is up 28% year to date versus a return of 10% for the Topix. Since inception, the fund is up 79% compared with a 41% for the Topix, according to the group. RWC also said the fund has a lower beta and lower volatility than many of its peers, as well as a Sharpe ratio of 2.4 over three years.
