Kames hires ex-SWIP global equities manager

Kames Capital has appointed former SWIP global equities manager Craig Bonthron to its global equities team.

Bonthron (pictured) will report to Pauline McPherson, who co-manages the £545m Kames Global Equity fund with Neil Goddin. The fund is in the first quartile of the IMA Global sector over one and three years, having returned 52% over three years to 7 November, according to FE, versus an average of 38%. At SWIP, Bonthron was investment director for global equities and joint fund manager of the group's Global Sustainability Equity and Global Islamic Equity funds.
