Second Mansion student accommodation fund defers redemptions

The HC Mansion UK Student Accommodation Income & Growth fund has deferred redemptions as it becomes the latest fund in the sector to suffer liquidity problems.

The £45m fund, which is UK registered, shares a name and property management company with the Guernsey-listed Mansion Student Accommodation fund which suspended redemptions last year. The authorised corporate director for the fund, Host Capital, said it has no connection to the Guernsey vehicle. However, Investment Week understands some IFA clients were invested in both funds prior to the rule change, and have been locked into their investments in the Guernsey fund since October.
