Rathbones' five funds to beat the S&P 500

Rathbones Unit Trust Management has selected five US equity funds that can add value at a time when many managers are struggling to outperform the S&P 500 index.

Year to date the S&P 500 index is up 20.3%, a rise which has done little to end concerns that many US equity fund managers typically struggle to beat that benchmark. That has led many wealth managers to turn to passives for their US exposure. But others remain confident they are able to unearth active funds worth their salt.
