Schroders poaches Jupiter's Matthews to replace Buxton

Schroders has poached Jupiter's Philip Matthews and Neptune's Alex Breese to replace Richard Buxton and Errol Francis when they move to Old Mutual Global Investors.

Buxton, manager of the £3.6bn UK Alpha Plus fund, is departing the firm in June along with deputy manager Francis. Matthews (pictured) will take on his fund when he joins in October, while Breese, currently head of UK equities at Neptune, will run the Schroder UK Equity and Schroder ISF UK Equity funds.
