Schroders sales get Q4 lift as equities return to favour

Schroders edged back into the top ten asset managers by fund sales in Q4 as investors showed renewed interest equities, the latest Pridham Report has revealed.

The group recorded net retail sales of £202.4m in the fourth quarter of 2012, placing it tenth in a list led by Standard Life Investments (SLI) with £1bn of net sales, BlackRock with £764m, and BNY Mellon with £733m. In the third quarter of last year, M&G fell out of the top ten firms by quarterly net retail sales after it moved to limit inflows into its bond funds, managed by a team including Richard Woolnough and Jim Leaviss.
