Alliance Trust Investments (ATI) has unveiled the launch of an absolute return bond fund, aiming to deliver an annualised 6% total return over rolling three year periods.
Investment Week revealed earlier this year the fund will be co-managed by Juan Valenzuela and Stuart Steven. Valenzuela (pictured) joined ATI from SWIP in April, while Steven has been a member of the group's fixed income team since 2009. The fund will employ a target return strategy and sit in the IMA Absolute Return sector. The vehicle will look to generate alpha through investing in a variety of relative value strategies, across a range of bonds and bond derivative instruments.
