Colin Harte, co-manager of the Barings Global Bond Trust, has left the company after 12 years of service.
Barings has taken the decision following a consultation period, after the company moved to close Harte's £77m Absolute Return Bond Trust.
The fund is being merged into Andrew Cole's £94.5m Baring Multi Asset fund, the company saying a wider multi-asset opportunity set offers a better context for delivering returns.
Hart joined Baring Asset Management as a senior investment manager in 2000 from Norwich Union, where he was head of international fixed income. He also previously worked at Gartmore Investment Management.
The Global Bond Trust will now be managed by co-manager Dagmar Dvorak, with Harjeet Heer as backup.
Dvorak has managed Barings' $157m International Bond fund for two years and been co-manager on the Global Bond fund for a year. Heer is head of Barings' global portfolio construction group and manages the $22m Global Aggregate Bond fund.
Global Bond Trust has returned 19.6% over the three years to 27 January, according to Morningstar, versus an IMA Global Bond sector average of 20.7%.
