HSBC GAM has launched a Luxembourg-domiciled frontier markets fund, the HSBC GIF Frontier Markets fund.
HSBC's existing New Frontiers offering, a Specialist Investment Fund, will be merged into the new long-only equity portfolio which will be open to UK retail investors.
Andrea Nannini, manager of the New Frontiers fund since launch in February 2008, will manage the newly-created portfolio, which is benchmarked against the MSCI Frontier Markets Capped Index.
The new fund has an AMC of 1.75% for retail investors, with a minimum investment of $5,000.
"The availability of HSBC Frontier Markets expertise in the GIF format with a retail share class caters for the demand from those investors seeking exposure to the next generation of global emerging markets, offering investors a further level of portfolio diversification," said Andy Clark, head of wholesale, EMEA at HSBC GAM.
