Fidelity has expanded its Fidelity Active Strategy range for discretionaries with the launch of an Emerging Markets fund managed by Nick Price.
The FAST Emerging Markets fund, launched this week, takes long and short positions in global emerging market equities and has the ability to use option strategies.
The fund will be benchmarked against the MSCI Emerging Markets Index.
Price, who leads Fidelity's EM team and manages its £2.5bn offshore Emerging Markets fund, will be supported by co-manager Suranjan Mukherjee, as well as Alex Duffy and Angel Ortiz on Latin American equities, and Ludmila Gavrilova for EMEA equities.
Net equity exposure will be between 90 -110%, with long equity exposure of up to 135% of net assets, and short exposure up to 30% of net assets.
Fidelity's existing emerging markets team of analysts and regional portfolio managers will contribute both long and short investment ideas to the fund.
In keeping with the rest of the FAST range, the fund is targeted at the discretionary marketplace and will have a minimum investment of $50,000. The range also includes Europe, Japan, UK and Optimised European Market Neutral offerings.
The Emerging Market fund will have an AMC of 1.5% for Class A shares (Dollar and Euro hedged) and 1% for the Class Y (Dollar and Sterling) shares. A performance fee of 20% of out-performance will be applied if returns exceed the benchmark by 2% a year.
