Andrew Paisley has joined SWIP as investment director, reporting to head of UK equities Peter Cockburn.
Based in Edinburgh, Paisley will be involved in the management of SWIP’s UK smaller companies mandates, including research analysis, portfolio management and fund marketing.
He will also work with the UK equities team to help deliver the overall equities investment strategy, the group said. He joins from Kempen, where he spent five years as a senior investment manager, responsible for €400m of pan-European small cap assets.
Prior to this he spent seven years at Edinburgh Fund Managers (subsequently Aberdeen Asset Management).
Cockburn said: “Andrew brings both a wealth of investment experience and a high-calibre track record of managing small cap mandates. He is a valuable addition to the UK equities team at SWIP which has £25bn invested in UK equities.
"His appointment strengthens further our UK equity capability and helps to evolve our investment process and product offering.”
