Aegon's asset management capabilities in the UK has officially been re-branded as Kames Capital today.
Investment Week exclusively revealed the re-brand on 12 July, after the group opted to differentiate the asset management business from its Dutch parent company, and also expand its third party business in the UK.
All Aegon funds will adopt the ‘Kames' tag as of today, with leading funds such as the £492m Aegon Strategic bond fund converting to the Kames Strategic Bond.
Andrew Fleming will continue to head up the business. He said: "We believe the clarity and distinctiveness of the new Kames Capital brand will allow us to accelerate our growth and build on the success we have achieved to date with our UK based expertise."
In the US and Netherlands, Aegon focuses on life and pensions but in the UK the asset management arm runs some £49bn AUM in fixed income, equity and property funds for third-party clients.
