Holden joins Ignis as UK equity restructure continues

Ignis has hired Mark Holden to run its underperforming £122m UK Focus fund as the group continues to restructure its UK equity team.

Holden will be charged with lifting the fund from the bottom of the IMA UK All Companies sector where it has languished for the past three years. In the last year alone the fund is 291st out of 298 funds, returning 8% compared to the UK All Companies sector average of 16.7%, according to Morningstar. The manager will join the group later in the year from wealth management firm Vestra Wealth where he was partner, member of the investment committee and responsible for the Vestra Most Preferred List, a compilation of top stock picks.
