Tim Gibson is joining Henderson Global Investors as head of property equities for Asia on 1 March.
He will take on the management of the Henderson Horizon Asia Pacific Property Equities fund as well as the Asian investments within the Horizon Global Property Equities fund and other institutional mandates.
He will be based in Singapore, working alongside Michael Wong and Eric Khaw, part of team that manages $950m of Asian property assets.
Gibson joins from AMP Capital Brookfield where he was a director and European fund manager within the indirect real estate investment team, responsible for portfolio construction and running a $1bn fund.
He was previously a European property analyst at Morgan Stanley Asset Management.
Patrick Sumner, the head of property equities, says Gibson's experience in European funds "will be of huge benefit to the Asian team, where he can offer new ideas and a different perspective on property equities."
