Nikko Asset Management has hired former First State CEO Charlie Metcalfe to lead its business across Europe, the Middle East and US.
One of Japan's leading money managers, Nikko has $120bn in AUM and is looking to expand outside the Far East.
Metcalfe, who left First State in February 2009, has 23 years experience in the investment and banking world.
He has also previously held the role of deputy CEO role at Hermes Investment Management and helped build Goldman Sachs' asset management business in the UK and northern Europe.
