Old Mutual has hired HSBC's Christine Johnson to run its Dynamic Bond fund.
Johnson joins from HSBC subsidiary Halbis Capital Management, and will work closely with head of fixed income Stewart Cowley on a range of global portfolios, as well as becoming the manager of the £30m Dynamic Bond fund.
She was previously a portfolio manager at Investec, running the European High Yield fund, and an analyst at Royal & Sun Alliance Investment Management.
Old Mutual has also hired Bastian Wagner, an analyst focusing is on high yield credit with responsibility for generating investment ideas across a range of portfolios.
He joined in May from Eaton Vance Management International where he covered high yield bonds and leveraged loans from European issuers.
Cowley says: "Christine and Bastian have considerable experience across a range of fixed income assets and I am delighted to welcome them to Omam.
"These appointments further demonstrate our commitment to fixed income investing and strengthen our team and capability in this area.
