Wealth adviser Towry has appointed Aberdeen head of multi-manager Robert Dawkins as chief investment officer.
Dawkins, who has previously held roles as managing director of RBS Asset Management and head of alternative investment management at Coutts, is expected to take up his position on 6 September.
Aberdeen says the day-to-day research and portfolio management will continue to be carried out by the existing team, including multi-manager CIO Michael Timmerman and a team of 20 analysts.
Timmerman reports directly to head of alternative investment strategies and Aberdeen chief investment officer Anne Richards.
"We are delighted to welcome Bob to Towry and to be able to attract such an experienced investor to be our chief investment officer, Towry CEO Andrew Fisher says.
"We now have nearly £3.5bn of client assets under discretionary management and are excited about developing our investment proposition further.
"Bob will be a valuable addition to our already strong investment team and will enhance our ability to meet the investment needs of our clients as well as forming a key part in our next phase of development and growth."
