Former 3i Group chief executive Brian Larcombe has joined the board of Investment Week’s publisher Incisive Media as a non-executive director.

Larcombe joined venture capital and private equity firm 3i in 1974 and headed the business from 1997 until his retirement in 2004.

He is also a director of Smith and Nephew, F&C Asset Management and Gate Gourmet Group Holdings.

"Brian has had an enormously successful career in private equity and brings to Incisive Media a wealth of direct experience in the markets we serve," says non-executive chairman Helen Alexander

"I am delighted he is to join our board and am confident his very considerable experience will benefit Incisive Media as we continue to develop our business and pursue our international growth strategy."

Larcombe adds: "I am excited to have this opportunity to work with chairman Helen Alexander and with Tim Weller and his management team and look forward to contributing positively to the growth of the business.

"Incisive Media is in prime position to rebound strongly as its severed markets recover given its leading position it enjoys in its core markets."
