Industry veteran Piers Denne has been hired by alternative investment boutique Future Capital Partners (FCP) to head up its new business development strategy.

Denne's first task in his expanded head of sales and marketing role will be the promotion of the firm's new product launches for Q1 2010. In addition, he will take charge of strengthening relationships with third-parties.

His 23 year career in financial services includes senior marketing and distribution roles at asset managers including Gartmore, Fidelity and Threadneedle. He is also secretary of the Investment Funds Association.

"Following the success we have enjoyed this year, it is crucial that we have a business development strategy in place to deal with the increase in interest around our products," Tim Levy, chief executive at FCP says.

"Piers' experience in devising and implementing these kinds of strategies will provide us with the means to continue our momentum. Moreover, in the long term, Piers' in-depth knowledge of the third party market will help us to optimise our client services and strengthen our distribution base."

FCP specialises in alternative investments such as renewable energy, international property, biotechnology and media and entertainment.
