Hargreaves Lansdown has added the Insynergy Odey fund to its Wealth 150 list.
Mark Dampier, head of research at Hargreaves Lansdown, says the fund has been added to Hargreaves Lansdown’s fund buy list because of fund manager Crispin Odey’s contrarain style of management.
“This is a global growth fund with a flexible mandate and the capacity to hold significant amounts in cash if the manager is wary of the market,” he says.
"The manager’s contrarian thinking often steers him towards unpopular sectors. There is no better example of this than his present position in banks.
"Having avoided them during 2007 and 2008 he has been a big buyer of them more recently, especially Barclays. He sees that other lenders have fallen by the wayside and profit margins have risen rapidly."
