BlackRock has suffered the second manager departure in its emerging markets team in about a month, with Plamen Monovski leaving the company, Investment Weeks understands.

Monovski, the lead manager on the £136m BlackRock Emerging Markets fund, has departed the firm just weeks after the exit of Alain Bourrier.

Bourrier, Monovski and Will Landers had worked on the Emerging Markets fund since May 2005 - before Bourrier's departure sparked a reshuffle which saw Monovski take lead control of the vehicle. The move also saw Landers focus on his offshore Latin American fund.

Management on the BlackRock Emerging Markets fund and its offshore mirror will fall to Daniel Tubbs and Dhiren Shah - who were appointed deputies to Monovski after Bourrier's departure.

Sam Vecht, who also replaced Bourrier on the offshore BGF Emerging Europe fund, will take lead responsibility for the vehicle on Monovski's exit. He will be assisted by Karol Chrystowski, David Reid, Gordon Fraser and Emily Clarke.
