Skandia Investment Group is launching its alternatives multi-manager portfolio on 23 June.

The Alternative Investment fund, which sits in the Absolute Return sector will invest in ten asset classes, including precious metals, water, infrastructure, commodities, currencies, timber and funds of hedge funds.

The ten manager line-up includes BlackRock’s Graham Birch, Morgan Stanley’s Chris Callan and Stephane Rougier of Lehman Brothers. Funds held include BlackRock Gold & General, JPM Highbridge Statistical Market Neutral, Lehman Commodity Plus and Aviva/Morley Absolute Tactical Asset Allocation. BNY Mellon will be responsible for the timber exposure through a passive mandate.

SIG will replace managers and add additional asset classes as opportunities arise to maximise the effectiveness of the fund.
