How has investing sustainably evolved in recent years? In the 12 years I have been in sustainable investing, anecdotally I have observed that funds were originally mainly ethical funds, defined by what they do not want to invest in, before the advent of a raft of relatively narrow themed funds, such as environmental technology, water, or renewable energy funds, and more recently a broadening out to multi-themed funds.
