Rathbones' Thomson: I have never had so many buy ideas for my global fund

James Thomson, manager of the Rathbone Global Opportunities fund, reveals his top-performing stocks, reasons for reducing his US allocation, and where he is finding the best ideas in the current climate

James Thomson joined Rathbones 15 years ago and has worked on the Global Opportunities fund since 2001, taking over as manager in July 2005. What started as a £5m product has now grown into a £674m fund that sits close to the top of its IA Global sector in terms of performance. Over three years to 11 February, the fund is up 28.5% versus its IA Global sector average return of 11.5%, according to FE Trustnet.
