In his first interview since taking over Schroder UK Opportunities from Julie Dean, Matt Hudson tells Anna Fedorova about plans to expand his team and how he is coping with the differing demands of his two portfolios.

Matt Hudson (pictured) moved to Schroders in 2013 when the fund group acquired Cazenove Capital, and in 2014 the manager's profile truly took off. Julie Dean's departure saw Hudson managing two very different UK equity propositions, and dealing with substantial outflows in the process. Hudson has been running the UK Alpha Income fund for nearly a decade, but taking over Schroder UK Opportunities from Dean raised questions among some fund buyers over his ability to juggle both products effectively.
