Schroders' Robin Stoakley tells Anna Fedorova how the group is responding to a challenging period for active managers, and how it coped with the high-profile departure of UK Opportunities manager Julie Dean.

Schroders’ £424m acquisition of Cazenove Capital Management in 2013 transformed its private banking business but was also another demonstration of the asset manager’s long-standing commitment to active investing. The deal brought valuable additions to Schroders’ fund range, including the top-performing UK Opportunities fund run by Julie Dean and Matt Hudson, as well as the multi-manager proposition managed by Marcus Brookes.
