Is student accommodation worth the risk?

Student accommodation funds have been beset by a number of high profile suspensions over the past few years, but some newer funds claim to offer safer structures. Are they worth the risk? Annabelle Williams reports.

Gone are the days when university students had to settle for a box room in a 1970s hall of residence. Over the past decade, property companies have been quick to move in to the space, developing well-equipped, purpose-built accommodation for students. The design of the blocks tends to resemble modern, five-star hotels or chic studio apartments.
