One to Watch: Miton's Moore on negotiating the Mott handover

Moore succeeds Mott on fund

Manager Eric Moore has worked on the Miton Income fund (formerly known as PSigma Income) since 2010, but his tenure on the strategy entered a rocky period when veteran lead manager Bill Mott retired at the end of 2014.

His departure prompted a flood of assets to leave the fund; AUM fell from £400m at its peak to £170m, as agencies placed the product under review. However, the fund has entered a more stable period in recent months. Moore, who is now lead manager on the vehicle alongside co-manager Gervais Williams, has been successful in achieving outperformance for the fund during a volatile year, pushing it into a top-quartile position over the period.  The fund returned 11% in 2015, according to FE Trustnet, versus 6% for the IA UK Equity Income sector.
