The £109m Strategic Equity Capital trust is one of the more esoteric names in the AIC universe of investment companies.

However, it is starting to appear on more investors’ radars, especially after winning the UK Smaller Companies award at last year’s Investment Week Investment Company Awards. At the end of last year, the trust also made the headlines when manager GVO Investment Management (GVOIM) was acquired by RIT Capital Partners; the £2.3bn trust chaired by Lord Rothschild.
